She just started doing that this morning.  I asked he if she was smelling her book and she said, “No, mama.  Her nose stuck in a book.”  which is a line in the Beauty and the Beast song.  HA!

Elsa is not sitting up yet and can’t quite hold her head up but she can be propped up for a few seconds for a photo op…before she starts to slip…

This girl knows no strangers and smiles on a dime.

I couldn’t believe how excited Camila was to have a birthday party.  It’s the first year she knew what a birthday was, how fun a party would be and that it included cake.  When we arrived to the park where we were throwing her party she let us know how she wanted everything.  ”I was thinking this balloon goes here.” “When my friends get here we’re going to dance!”  ”I was thinking that we could eat the cupcakes now.”

In addition to the cupcake brownies that Camila helped me bake I made some star fruit wand kabobs,

We had a great time!

Now we’re on to four!

We’re having a good time.

This is the first Easter that Camila knows what to do.   Last year she just enjoyed being around the other kids.  This year she was on a mission to find eggs.

She did pretty well.  We’re now recovering from the excitement and the sugar high.

They are their own people, with their own unique qualities some good, some bad, just like us adults.

But I can’t help it.

Camila was and is a spirited girl.  With super highs and super lows.  She cries hard and laughs hard.

A girl quick to freak out but equally quick to calm down ever since she was a baby.

Smiles.  She doesn’t just give them away, you have to earn them.  I’m proud that she isn’t easy in that way.

NOW…Elsa.

Oh, my dear Elsa.

Calm, smiling all the time, barely cries and did I mention she sleeps?  A lot?  AT NIGHT?!?!?!?

I’m aware I am comparing apples and oranges and one is a toddler and that REALLY isn’t fair.

And I don’t love Camila less than I do Elsa because I am crazy about my almost three year old.

But I have found more room in my heart for my youngest.  I’m so glad that she’s joined us and really thankful that she’s a calm baby.

SO thankful.

And that she sleeps…did I mention that she sleeps?

At least for now she does…we still have to make it through teething.

Oy.

She lights up when she hears his keys in the lock and begins to frolic and skip around the apartment with new found energy.

We try to give him a moment to decompress from being in LA traffic.

But his minute doesn’t last too long.

She’s a Dada’s girl.

She’s found comedy.

She cracks herself up and me too.

Whenever I laugh at one of her jokes she looks at me with such pride that her joke has landed.

Oh boy.

A performer is born.

I’m going to keep pushing for exogeologist.

Currently,  I am trying to bore my child a little bit so her creativity can grow.  It’s pretty easy to turn on the TV, to let her be entertained by the moving pictures but I am trying to resist.  It’s hard and I don’t mind a little TV now and then but her imagination will be able to take her to more places than Go Diego Go can.

This tree is her favorite right now.  She disappears into it and sings and talks to herself while she climbs.

I can just see her world building up around her.

Though honestly, with an artist for a dad and a photographer/actress for a mom she’s really not going to have problems in the creativity department.
