Luckily one of her best friends also started preschool with her so they each have a partner in crime.

I didn’t capture it but they were holding hands during circle time.  Way. Too. Cute.

The other BIG change is Camila’s little sister will be joining us in the next two weeks.

She’s really excited to teach her little sister all sorts of things like how to walk, how to talk and how to eat.    She knows that her baby sister is going to say, “Waaaaah!” a lot and that she can’t eat honey or popcorn.  We have stocked up on presents that her sister will be giving her to ease the transition.  Yes.  Her baby sister will be buying her love through us.  I’m not ashamed to admit it.  We want to make sure they start on the right foot.  Right now we are having such a great time with Camila.  We are really excited to meet our new baby girl and we hope that it doesn’t change how much fun we are having with our big girl (who will be THREE in April!!).

It’s a New Year with a lot of changes.

Inside was an Elf and a book from my aunt and Camila’s Great Aunt Tina.

The Elf stays with you before the holiday season and lets Santa know what you’d like for Christmas and if you’ve been naughty or nice.

Camila loved it, of course!  She named the Elf “Elf” though added “Sally” after I went through a list of names for her.  Elf Sally was also informed that Camila would like a Blue present this year.  No other specifics other than blue. Oh, and that she has NOT been naughty this year.

Other than the grandparents, the main attraction were the waves.  Camila has been reading about Ladybug Girl and the Beach and was excited to be able to face any fear of the water and put her toes in.  The water was ice cold, ICE cold but she loved it anyway.

The sunsets were beautiful and our hotel gave us a great view of Catalina island in the distance.

It was a great trip.

It was a treat to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa before Baby #2 joins us in 9 short weeks and we’re turned upside down for a while.  They got to see first hand how much Camila loves tutus.

And how much she loves being a ballerina.  Inspired by her cousin Abigail.

Thankfully this homemade tutu arrived in the mail via Abuela and Abuelo.

There goes all my work of, “Isn’t Purple a nice color too?” and “Trains are so much fun!”  She is a girl.  She likes Pink. And she wants to be a Princess-Fairy-Ballerina.

We went to a few Halloween parties, where Camila danced for about 99% of the time.

Seriously.  She didn’t want the pizza they were serving nor did she want to play with the other kids. She wanted to dance.  To her own music.  ”Dancing Dinosaur! Dancing Dinosaur!” was her mantra.  (at least she was chanting dinosaur and not princess!)

The other 1% of the time she was flirting with 14 and 11 year old boys from our neighborhood, Will and McGee, who she danced for and let chase her.

Camila is like all of her family members, especially her parents, strong willed, opinionated and marches to the beat of her own drum.  Makes for some challenging parenting but I bet she’ll be an adult I’d like to be friends with.

We went to this great place near our house called Travel Town.  Loads of fun!

Looking forward to the next time we get together!

She was a very vocal viewer: yelling out character names, laughing aloud, yelling, “NO!”  when the characters shouldn’t do something and crying with lots of gusto at the climax of the film.

Needless to say it was a hit.  She talked about it for the rest of the day as well as the day after.

Though we probably won’t go again for a while, it’s safe to say that she’ll enjoy it again when we do!

Aren’t they too cute?  And delicious.

My husband loves sweets and has passed that love on to his daughter.

Who am I kidding?  I love sweets too.  Can’t point to him for that gene.

Camila ate them one sprinkle at a time.  Good way to make them last longer!
